Hello, I’m Livia Tommasini! In a nutshell, I’m a professionally trained dog walker & owner of CiaoCiao PetCare, the service that I founded to pursue my life-long fascination for animals of all shapes & sizes and for canines in particular. I am trained in dog behavior, pack dynamics, dog handling, and I specialize in walking difficult dogs on leash, and in socializing dogs by walking the same few dogs together regularly. I am passionate about giving dogs the socialization and exercise they need to be happy, healthy, and well-behaved, making the lives of the humans who love them a little easier.
I am committed to using only force-free handling and training methods to teach the dogs in my care what they need to know to stay safe and have fun on their walks. I take my work seriously and I enthusiastically pursue continued education by keeping current on all relevant literature and regularly taking hands-on dog training classes to keep my skills fresh.
When I’m not busy helping my clients enjoying easier lives with their dogs, I love volunteering for Coastal German Shepherd Rescue to help rescue dogs find forever loving homes. And I enjoy hiking, especially with my husband Greg and Darley, an adorable dog we adopted from Coastal German Shepherd Rescue.
“Ciao” is a common Italian way of saying both “hello” and “goodbye.” Originally hailing from Italy and Switzerland, I looked for a way to incorporate a bit of my native tongue into the name of my service. As each day begins with picking up my canine charges for a fun-filled excursion (“hello again!”), and ends with dropping them safe and tuckered out at home (“goodbye for now!”), CiaoCiao seemed the perfect fit.
